The fate of Titanic’s human passengers is well documented but what happened to all of the animals on board?
Last week, I learned the story of the ships cat Jenny who had become a mother shortly before Titanic’s fateful maiden voyage. Titanic docked at Southampton on 10 April 1912, and Jenny carried her kittens off the ship, one by one. When they were all safe on dry land, she remained by their side.
Jenny’s human caretaker watched this unfold and made a wise decision to follow her example!
I was told that a number of dogs accompanied their owners to the mighty depths of the ocean on 15 April 2012 but five dogs did happily survive.
