Super Moon

I waited in vain yesterday, for thick swathes of clouds to disappear and reveal the super moon.  Sadly, they were not for shifting!

Reluctantly, I went to bed to catch up on some much needed sleep after the excitement of my book launch.  My mind was racing and sleep evaded me.

At 1 am, I rose and peeked outside my front door.  The clouds were shifting.  I hurried outside with my camera and caught a few VERY small glimpses of the moon.  I felt incredibly happy.

I went back to bed.  I could not sleep.  I got up AGAIN around 2 am and the sky was clear; the stars were sparkling and so too was the super moon!

I stood in my back garden and watched in AWE.  Eventually, I took a few photographs for posterity, for the super moon shines brightly in the camera of my memories.

  1. I was hoping to get a photo of the moon rising up over the mountain crest, but I was home when that shot happened and huge trees covered my view. This morning’s local paper did have “my” shot on the front page. It looked great and massive, as I knew it would be. 🙂

  2. Couldn’t see it through the cloud here. Seems kind of fitting that you managed to catch a glimpse on such an important day for you, I think! Hope the book does fabulously.
