I have so very much to be thankful for this week. I do not know where to begin!
Thank you to everyone who supported me this past week in launching my book
I had a very memorable book launch celebration party on Saturday with lots of fun and a good old sing song. This was my first time hosting a blog party, but it will definitely not be my last. Thank you once again to everyone who called by and joined in the FUN.
I was born on the night of a full moon, so what better day to choose for my launch date but the day of the super moon ; I felt so very blessed to actually see it!
A HUGE amount of work went into publishing my book, and I have many people to thank for helping me behind the scenes. I would not have written a book at all had it not been for “Woman and Home” magazines memoir writing competition back in summer 2012!
I took the magazine along to my friends in “Rosses Writers,” and myself and another member put our entries forward for the 31st October competition deadline. Needless to say neither of us won!
My friends in the group encouraged me all along the way, and I will always be thankful for their support. My sister read each chapter as I wrote it, and gave me plenty of constructive criticism.
I sent my synopsis and first three chapters to author Sue Leonard who gave me sound advice on structure and content. I returned to her later with my revised efforts, and she provided me with fresh ideas on moving forward.
Olive O’Brien did a great structural and final edit, while Brenda Tobin provided sound advice on publishing law.
I was supported further by Books Go Social who provided LOTS of great information at their self publishing conference in Dublin, in summer 2015. Laurence O’Bryan and his team have been a HUGE support in getting my book e formatted and their cover design by Mirna Gilman has attracted lots of positive comments.
Finally, thank you to all my social media friends – you have been so very helpful and kind. I really appreciated your messages of support.
It has been a long road that I found challenging at times, but the right help has always been there for me. I have been reading a very timely book – Julia Cameron’s “The Prosperous Heart,”and know in Julia’s speak that during the most difficult of times:
“Gods got it.”
