Joyful Reading

The busyness of Christmas has now passed, and I have been blessed with two weeks of rest, including a good few hours of very joyful reading.

I stepped out of my usual self help and travel genres, and read a couple of excellent crime thrillers, an inspiring novel, a collection of short stories and an illustrated storybook about a little black cat called Charm.

An added bonus was the Amazon Kindle sales, where I bagged some great discounted books.  A number of them were FREE!

Being a newly published author, I now realise the importance of good book reviews on Amazon, Goodreads…

Reviewing books is quite new to me; the first book I ever reviewed was my blogging friend Jacqueline Oby Ikocha’s beautiful book of poetry “Out of the Silent Breathe”

I am enjoying this new reading and reviewing journey…

colourfulfoodnourishes-my-body-mind-and-soulSadly, my body has developed a chest infection.  Craving healing food, I made a giant pot of my blogging friend Sumith’s excellent Dal Chawal, which is packed with revitalising ingredients:

  • dal,
  • turmeric,
  • coconut,
  • chillies,
  • cumin,
  • garlic…

Please pop over to his blog, and you too will be inspired by his beautiful culinary creations.

I did not include a photograph of my own Dal efforts as they could never match Sumith’s stunning photographs!

Last but not least, I ended my first ten months of blogging on a high.  At 11 am on 31st December, my blog notched up 10,000 likes.  Many thanks to all my followers; I truly appreciate your support.

Wishing you all a blessed 2017.

  3. Your blog is very lovely! I love the name! And I have to agree with you on the healing properties of food, me trying to convince my husband, that’s another story. Lol. Thank goodness I can at least get him to eat a salad. I will have to pop over to the site you mentioned. Thank you!

      1. Rest as much as you need. I’ve had a terrible sore throat all weekend and can hardly talk today. I rested all weekend and am staying home from work today. I see lots of warm broth in my near future. xo

      2. Oh good I’m glad it helped you. Please take care of yourself and you can be assured that with LOTS of garlic, the vampires should stay away too!! 😉 xo
