The Keukenhof Gardens#2

Wine bottles in a unique flower arrangement 

Part two of my visit to the Keukenhof Gardens, described as “the most beautiful spring garden in the world,” focuses on the indoor exhibitions.

The sculptural display of lilies and ferns displayed in wine bottles, was one of MANY unique ideas that my sister and I witnessed on our trip, so I make no apologies for including LOTS of inspiring photographs again this week!

The Amaryllis were simply stunning. I aspire to creating a replica!

Many of the containers and stands were painted to enhance the beauty of the blooms.

Lilies were featured once again, in a  series of gold frames against a black background. I could not choose a favourite…

Small tanks of water (located underneath), ensure they are never thirsty.

Friesian cows stole the show in this display!

A traditional Delft pottery boy and girl created a beautiful blue backdrop for these bicycles.

I so loved these paintings…

In the Beatrix Pavilion I fell in love with these hearts:

It would have been great to sit down.

Moving onto the Oranje Nassau Pavillion, we were a little too late to witness a floristry demonstration, but these two displays pay testament to the standard of talent that filled the room:

Finally, it was time to say “goodbye” from a car heading to the beach, covered in recycled paint pots!

The Keukenhof Gardens exceeded all our expectations…

  10. Oh your pictures say so much. I would have found it difficult to leave such splendour. Grateful you shared it with us. Perhaps one day I will visit this flower exhibition I will have to visit my friend in Delph. The back drop from Delph was fabulous.

  19. An arm chair made with books? What a novelty idea. The whole garden is filled with creative ideas. I love your care carrying all the plants and trees, reminds of of 37 years ago when I moved from Seattle to Los Angeles, I drove by myself with every belonging fitted in one car… haha. Now I can’t even fit one room’s stuff in my car! Thank you for sharing your post!

  20. Ohhhh Daisies!! Such amazing photos. What a display!! (all of them).
    It would have taken me HOURS to cover the whole thing, and then …. I’d have gone back to the start and done it all over again.

    I THINK my favourite was the Delft Pottery photo background, with the painted bikes (in blue) holding their floral delights in the baskets on the front. It totally took my breath away. Such thought and design …. well, the whole thing was just a little miracle in art and nature. I loved it.
