“Dr Bach Flower Essences to the Rescue” is another re-blog for “Self Care September.”
Dr Bach Rescue Remedy is sold in high street chemists and health stores worldwide, endorsed by many for reducing stress and anxiety, aiding sleep, exam nerves …
But, did you know that its creator – Dr Edward Bach died back in 1936?
He was a doctor ahead of his time, who intuited that the energy from flowers could be harnessed, to heal the emotions and in one of his remedies – to heal the the mind. In turn, he felt that the body would heal itself.
He created 38 different flower essences and one combination essence known as Rescue Remedy; it contains five different essences:
- Cherry Plum,
- Rock Rose,
- Star of Bethlehem.
The remaining single essences were subdivided, for healing of seven different types of issues:
- Insufficient interest in present circumstances,
- Over sensitivity to influences and ideas,
- Despondency and despair,
- Over care for the welfare of others.
I have been using various combinations of these essences for more than thirty years now, and they have helped me heal from the premature death of my parents, a miscarriage, divorce, moving home …
If you want to learn more about Dr Bach’s wonderful legacy , he wrote two books – “Heal Thyself” first published in 1931, and “The Twelve Healers and Other Remedies” first published in 1933.
Mount Vernon, Dr Edward Bach’s former home and workplace is now home to http://www.bachcentre.com, where you will find:
