Celebrating Two Years as a Self Published Author

All Author Nov 1

On 14th November 2016, I published the E-book of my self help and travel memoir “Watching the Daisies – Life Lessons on the Importance of Slow. It had taken me four long years to reach publication, and although I felt elated I also felt exhausted, overwhelmed and in awe of so many of my fellow authors.

Thank you

Untitled designThere have been many days since then when LIFE has been challenging, but the blogging and social media community have supported me, and I have continued on my path as a writer and blogger.

There have been many weeks when I felt despondent, and your encouragement lifted my spirits.

There have been many days when I wondered what to write, and you have given me inspiration.

There have been many hours when I have thought “I am not good enough.” However, your warm words boosted my self esteem.

There have also been many minutes when I felt like retiring and having a quiet life!

Another Book

However, I have another book in early gestation, which you have inspired me to write.

Thank you all for your support, encouragement, inspiration and warm words. I could not have continued this journey without you.

I will be posting details of a Giveaway on Friday next – entry via blog.

  1. Oh how very exciting Brigid, I have to agree blogging (even when only reading and not actually posting) has been a fantastic experience. I do wish you well as a published author, through the trials and tribulations you have kept at it and never given up. That is admirable. xxx

  2. 😁 you do not know how happy this news makes me, I am still reading your first book deliberately putting it down after a few pages when I could so easily read it to the end NOW because I don’t want it to end! Now I know there is a new book to look forward to πŸ™‚πŸ™ƒπŸ™‚πŸ™ƒπŸ™‚ I feel like I have been on your travels with you Bridget, I’m not a great traveler and would never have had the courage to do what you did on your own too.

Can’t wait for your new book and as soon as I get back home from seeing mum today I’m going to read more of Watching the daisies 🌹

      1. It’s difficult for her Bridget, she has always been a person that has kept herself moving. It’s a massive change for us all. Sad but yet a blessing in that we are spending so much more time together. 🌹

  7. Hi Brigid, time goes by fast. It has been two years since your publication. It’s been only two weeks for me and I feel like going so slow. You were the earliest inspiration for me to write my memoir. Although I came across some situations, I did manager to publish my poetic memoir. I remember asking you how long it took to write your memoir but I didn’t feel bad when mine took so long. Good to hear that you’re writing your next book!

      1. Yes, Brigid. I should be thankful to have a couple doz sales and about 10 loans to read in two weeks. I also have a book sale at church this Sunday as a fundraising – I paid the author’s price, all sales will be donated to the missionaries our class supports.
I schedule a book tour with 4willspublishing after Thanksgiving.
I’ll do what I can to get the words out there.
Thank you to have my book on your tbr schedule. πŸ™‚ ❀

  8. Well done Brigid. Not in right place to read & comment on your post earlier. Yesterday in particular was a day when I felt I had lost the plot & a comment on one of my blog posts by a fellow blogger Was the encouragement I needed with the emphasis on word courage -enCOURAGEment.
Your words particularly resonate with me and I am sure you are so pleased to be celebrating your wonderful achievement.
    Kind regards
