The Versatile Blogger Award Nominated by Kim from I Tripped Over a Stone

Versatile Blogger Award

Many thanks to Kim from http://www.itrippedoverastone.com for nominating me for The Versatile Blogger Award.

Kim suffers from Fibromyalgia and she always inspires me with her words of wisdom.

She has written The ShadowBoxer’s, Fighting Fibromyalgia, Your Personal Journal. which happens to be the first interactive journal about fibromyalgia ever published on Amazon.

The rules of the Versatile Blogger Award are as follows:

  1. If you are nominated, Congratulations you have been awarded the Versatile blogger award!
  2. Thank the person who gave you the award and include a link to their blog.
  3. Select 10 -15 blogs/bloggers that you’ve recently discovered or follow regularly.
  4. Nominate those bloggers for the Versatile Blogger Award.
  5. Tell the person who nominated you 7 things about yourself.

Seven things about me:

  1. Like Kim I suffer from Fibromyalgia. It has influenced my life since 2003, when I succumbed to a plethora of symptoms that were quite frightening. However, I have been very proactive, utilising lots of natural medicines, adapting my lifestyle and slowing down greatly.
  2. Donegal, Ireland has been my home since 1999. My parents came from this area but had to leave in the 1950’s to find work. Prior to that I lived in central Scotland.
  3. This is my fourth career! I worked in life assurance for 13 years, as a natural medicines therapist and teacher for 20 years, a student and teacher of organic horticulture for 10 years, and now as an author and blogger for 3 years.
  4. I used to go hill climbing before my illness. In Scotland, mountains over 3000 feet are called Munroes. I climbed more than 25 Munroes plus a few mountains here in Donegal. I now enjoy walking on flat paths and beaches…
  5. In 1997 I took my first solo holiday to Egypt. I have since visited Rome, Malta, Morocco, India, Bali, Greece… I also enjoy travelling with family and friends.
  6. I have a HUGE number of relatives as my parents both hailed from families of 11. Sadly, only 2 of my mothers sisters remain alive, and the last of my father’s siblings died in January.
  7. I used to paint, but blogging and gardening take up most of my creative energy at the moment. The paintings below are two examples of my work, the first in oils and the second a batik:

  1. You are definitely versatile Bridget and gifted in so many ways. If anyone on here has not read your book Watching the Daisies which I purchased from Amazon they are really missing out on a treat. Personally I can’t wait for your next book 📖

I didn’t know that you did painting too! Is there anything you can’t do! Many thanks for the nomination but unfortunately unlike you I’m not too good at multitasking and therefore run an award free site. 😉

Wishing you good health , more writing, more gardening and definitely a few more paintings. 🌹

  2. Brigid, congratulations on this lovely award that recognised the versatile nature of you and your blog! 😀🌺 It’s lovely to learn more about you. Wow! I’ve impressed with all the Munroes you’ve managed to climb … it’s sad your illness stopped this but heartening with the new travels and direction your life took! Your paintings are beautiful and I hope you have a chance to take this up again – you have a natural talent! Wishing you a wonderful weekend! Hugs xx ❤️

  4. Congratulations on the award, Brigid, and thank you for nominating me. Unfortunately, I stopped doing these award a few years ago as they were taking up too much of my writing and reading time. However, I really appreciate you thinking about me.

    Have a lovely weekend.

  6. Congrats on the well-deserved award! It’s interesting to get to know a bit more about you with these sorts of tags/awards. A fourth career eh, well you’re doing damn good at writing and blogging so I think you’ve done incredibly well! I’m really sorry about your family though, to have lost so many relatives on your dad’s side with his siblings and many of your mother’s siblings, also. I don’t know much of my extended family, which I’ve always thought was a shame. Where do you prefer, Donegal or central Scotland? 🙂
Have a lovely rest of your weekend!
    Caz xx

  8. Congratulations for your award. You definitely demonstrate a great diversity of talents and this nomination is well deserved. It is a pleasure to learn more about you and wow your paintings are really lovely. I hope you will soon find time to devote yourself to it again. Thank you for nominating me. I appreciate. Currently, I unfortunately can’t follow up. With family and work, I have little time available for blogging and the time at my disposal is mainly devoted to our project When Fashion and Nature Collide. However, I keep the link of your post and when things calm down, I will be pleased to properly reply to your kindness. Meanwhile, I’ll keep reading you with great pleasure.
