Instead of my usual monthly gardening post, I am sharing flowers in bloom from the village of Annagry – my home for the past fourteen years.
The Tidy Towns team have created an awesome display of flowers on Bikes in Bloom:
Local businesses are also looking well:
Visitors can learn more about local bird life, flora and fauna from these charts:
While admiring stunning views of the Atlantic Ocean, which edges the car park:
A wonderful display of artistic talent lights up a number of walls and windows:
The village hall looks striking in red:
The red theme continues on a number of other delightful displays:
Two lovely ladies have created a fabulous community garden:
While the Tidy Towns team have recently added a lovely seating area, with another spectacular sea view:
Although I have just returned from a terrific holiday in Bonnie Scotland, I just have to say:
“There is simply no place like home.”
What gorgeous photographs, Brigid. We have also just returned home from a holiday in Scotland. Lots of amazing history there.

Thank you Robbie. I had such a lovely time in Scotland and will be posting on my holiday over the coming weeks. Where did you go? I was in Glasgow then Portobello (the beach outside Edinburgh)

Sounds lovely, Brigid. We were in Dumfries, Oban, Skye, Inverness and Edinburgh as well as York and Nottingham. It was super.

Skye is lovely, Brigid, I really recommend it. We had lunch at a lovely Vegetarian restaurant there called the Red Roof. Wonderful food in the most beautiful setting.

The team has talent! I like the red theme so much and gardens sure do add beauty to a place –
And what a nice place to live for 14 years

It looks lovely, Brigid, though I have to admit that I first read that as An Angry Village. Must be all that Brexit conditioning we’re indoctrinated with here!

Thank you Clive. Goodness. Brexit is something else. Unbelievable!

What beautiful images. I love the pride of the residents. I walked through a town in Japan where they had residents whose entire job was to keep tourists quiet (gently, with shushing). I love that.

Brigid, what an idyllic village … you’ll have us all flocking to the area! 😀The Bikes in Bloom is wonderful, creative, vibrant and inspiring – I have a feeling there is a great community spirit amongst you all. As for being so close to the ocean, that must be heavenly! Welcome back and enjoy being back home! Xx

It is wonderful to see Annagry looking so beautiful. My aunt, Brigid Dora, planted a rock garden across from the Post Office ( not the present location) many years ago. She would have loved seeing the whole of Annagry bloom.

She sure would Catherine. She was a lovely lady and sadly missed. I planted some Nasturtiums for her rock garden when Tidy Towns first started.
