After an extended blogging break, I am continuing the tradition of posting highlights from my garden from the previous year.

Bleeding Heart, Pulmonaria and Tulips

 

July/August/September

A quiet spot for a cup of tea.

October/November/December

If you look back on A Year in the Garden 2018 the 2019 growing season is a little behind that of 2018, which was exceptionally advanced.

A Year in the Garden – 2017   is entirely different again!

2020 is showing signs of new growth, with snowdrops in bloom and other spring bulbs peeking out from their winter slumber.

  6. What a lovely way to observe the passage of time and the flow of seasons through your garden. I’m impressed by how much you have growing and flowering in the early months of the year, I only have 2 snowdrops and a lot of bare earth in mine at this point! ☺️

  8. Well that’s a riot of growth and colour. That pink edged heuchera is a stunner. Frost has beaten its path to our door the last couple of days. About bloody time… how about at yours? The forecasts suggest you’ve had a lot more rain than us.

  27. Brigid, lovely to see you back and hope you’ve had a wonderful break! What a beautiful return to blogging and I’m enjoying the recap of your garden from last year. An explosion of colour – so much needed this time of year! It is truly glorious. The first photo of the April/May/June section reminds me of a Van Gogh painting, a poster of which is in my bedroom! I look forward to following your garden as the year progresses … it’s always a joy to see the bulbs slowly appearing! 😀🌺

  28. I hope you have another wonderful garden year, Brigid, it’s lovely to see your garden blooming into the fall…I’m noticing snowdrops popping up as well as camellia blossoms…after a blustery snow storm that blew in last week, we’re enjoying some tropical rain from Hawaii!

  34. New growth soon – always a happy happy occasion. We will have bare branches until mid-April, when the tight buds seem to fatten, but they don’t open until early May. Such a looooooooooooong time to wait. Enjoy your beautiful garden of solitude and beauty.
