Finding A Way Forward Among the Rocks

Donegal, is an area of outstanding natural beauty, with long stretches of pristine beaches, peppered with an abundance of rocks, which satisfy my lifelong love of  stones and crystals.

Meditations

Since lock down rules relaxed, I have been spending LOTS of quiet time at the beach, meditating on the sounds of the sea from my favourite rocky outcrops:

The Way Forward

Although the future is uncertain:

A series of stones have brightened my path with their uplifting messages:

“Never ever give up.

“Life isn’t about finding yourself, life is about creating yourself.”

“You can never cross the ocean until you have the courage to lose sight of the

shore.”

And my favourite:

“You rock.”

  1. Donegal was my favourite county to visit when I lived in Ireland. I feel nostalgic now!!! What great gifts the stones are to leave for people to discover!

  2. Thank you for sharing the sounds of the sea Brigid. I’ve been missing the ocean this year for some reason. I haven’t lived near it for quite a few years now, but all of a sudden, I’m missing it…. Your painted stones are lovely. That’s quite a big thing here also – people hide their lovingly painted rocks all over the place for people to find. What a great spirit-lifter in a time like this!

    • Glad you enjoyed the sound of the waves Terri. I love being near water, but my home has no sea view. My wee pond lifts my spirits on no beach days. There were such a lot of uplifting messages left on the stones. Such a lovely gesture by an unknown artist(s).

  3. Hello, Brigid, such a simple but uplifting post. As a land locked Midwesterner, I always have enjoyed your ocean and shore musings. Also, I finally received my Dr. Bach’s Rescue Remedy. It had to come all the way from the UK!

  4. Hi Brigid, always lovely to see you in my inbox. I keep meaning to paint some rocks to leave around on my walks (it’s on my to do list). To be honest though as we are again in total lockdown in Victoria, I am not venturing out at the moment.
You do indeed live in the most beautiful of places. I’m off to put on my headset to listen to the ocean. Thank you for the video. I hope you are keeping well. XX

    • Hi Barb. Thank you for your lovely feedback.
I so hope things improve after the lockdown. We have gotten through 3 months of it, but numbers are a bit worrying this week, so the next stage of reopening has been delayed. Fingers crossed.
These rocks are so uplifting, so I might add one or two of my own for visitors.
I am awaiting further investigations, but feeling a lot better. On aspirin as a preventative.
May you and your loved ones stay safe and well. xx

  5. Such a wonderful idea to spread the good vibes, and some excellent quotes. I do like seeing life and ourselves as something we ‘create’, it’s very empowering. And this one – “You can never cross the ocean until you have the courage to lose sight of the shore” makes you realise that sometimes you have to take a deep breath and push through the fear to move forward. Thank you for sharing these, whoever made them has a kind heart too. I hope you can continue to go to the water and meditate and calm your soul, Brigid xx

    • Thank you Caz. It is such a powerful gesture to leave behind. I do not know yet who painted them, but they sure have lifted my spirits. I might add one or two myself as suggested in comments on this post.
I am heading to the water later, after I visit my auntie. xx

  6. I’m so glad you’re connecting with nature and finding peace at the shore. Those rocks are wonderful finds, Brigid. I love it that people are creating them and leaving them for others to enjoy. It’s a wonderful act of kindness. ❤

  7. Brigid, you rock!!😀😀 What a beautiful gift of the painted stones left out for other and I’m coming across some on my walks, but none with a message! Oh, your ocean video is just what I needed today … heavenly and serene and it quenched a bit of my longing for the sea. Enjoy your special mediation corner … finding inner peace and strength.

  8. I’m glad you could spend more time at the sea meditating, Brigid. I love to join you to just sit side by side, not for talking, but just be there and appreciate the nature. You rock messages are so uplifting!
