IMG_0999The exact cause of fibromyalgia remains unknown, but several triggers have been noted among sufferers, including physical or psychological trauma.  Viral infections are another possible cause.

This dis-ease may be secondary to other auto-immune disorders, such as rheumatoid arthritis, ankylosing sponylitis, lupus…  It is more prevalent among women.

Symptoms vary but can include:

  • widespread pain,
  • sensitivity to pain,
  • sensitivity to food, bright lights, moulds…
  • stiffness,
  • fatigue,
  • cognitive problems,
  • headaches,
  • anxiety,
  • depression…
