Such wonderful pictures, Brigid. We didn’t manage to walk through these gardens and now I feel I missed out. WE shall have to go back to Scotland, but I plan to visit Ireland first. Hugs.

They are well worth a visit Robbie but the Royal Botanic Gardens are world class. I have a post written for 21 October. I hope you get another visit to Scotland. If you come to Ireland it would be lovely to meet up. x

Thanks Brigid, I’ll let you know. It will only be August next year as that is our big holiday.

I had a lovely picnic the day I visited courtesy of Marks and Spencers. The gardens revived me for the rest of the day.

Princes Street Gardens was my favourite place to relax when I used to live in Edinburgh. It’s such a beautiful and photogenic place to explore and photograph, can’t wait to go back one day 😀

It sure is. I love revisiting my old favourites. Edinburgh was my home from 1975 to 1990.

We were last there on New Year’s Eve, 1999. It looked a bit different then!

It gets very busy at New Year. The fireworks are a big attraction.

Yes. I remember being in the middle of everybody pushing and shoving to get where they wanted to go. It was quite scary!

It is hard being far away from our loved ones. My sister lives in Fife, and I wish she lived nearer…

Yes I miss my mum, dad and brother who are all in Edinburgh. Looking forward to seeing them soon.

Thank you for the tour, Brigid. That last one of Edinburgh Castle is particularly evocative! I have fond memories of a floral clock (which is still there) near Niagara Falls; we used to visit it when I was a kid. This one reminds me of that.

Thank you. I have a soft spot for the floral clock. Like you, I used to visit it as a child. It felt really magical and still does. I have been to Niagara Falls twice and loved it, especially going on The Maid of the Mist!

Funny how you live in a place all your life but never visit the local attractions. I’ve never been on the Maid of the Mist! (But I have done the cable car across the Gorge.) I think now they’ve replaced her with some other tourist boat. 😦

The cable car sounds exhilarating.

Edinburgh remains one of my favorite cities to visit. I missed out on the Royal Botanic Gardens *sad emoji* but a mystic told me he had conversations with Pan there.

You really make me want to travel though I don’t do well in crowds. Hmm… I could probably find nature-filled corners around that beautiful setting.

I am not into crowds either Jacqui. The gardens are right next to a very busy shopping area, and provide a wee peaceful oasis. Happy travelling.

What a gorgeous place, and a great view of the castle from below by the fountain, I’ve never seen that perspective of it before. Looks like a lovely place to wonder around on a dry day, love the photos! ♥

Thank you Caz. I lived in Edinburgh for fifteen years, and these gardens always delight my inner child. They are a great spot to get away from the busyness of the city centre. xx
