The weather remains mild here in Donegal, and Mother Nature seems more than a little confused. Growth appears to be around a MONTH ahead of this time last year!
It seems timely to share some of my floral highlights from 2018, before I continue with my regular monthly gardening posts:

I feel incredibly blessed to have spent such a LOT of time outdoors last year in glorious sunshine. My pink garden chairs were put to good use, as I was able to keep well ahead of my usual tasks.
Hopefully, the 2019 weather will not disappoint.
Watching the Daisies 
I love your Garden, Brigid of the lovely flowers. On the contrary, I didn’t spend as much time in my garden as previous years due to the labor of my book. I plan to get back on my schedule to enjoy my garden this year.

Brigid, this is just what I needed on a cold winter morning! The beautiful and vibrant colours of your garden are a real tonic to see … it’s nearly like we forget the exquisite nature of flowers – thank you for this timely reminder. Your garden looks amazing and the photos are superb. As for the seasons, confusing is the word although it seems to be back to more normal wintery days, frost and sunshine is so much better than the grey! 😀

Thank you Annika. The seasons have been way out of sync. We had a touch of frost last night and the night before and blue sunny skies to lift the grey. It does the heart good.

Sounds nice. I’ve never been to Ireland! Where I live it is currently -29 degrees below zero! Windchills put us at -55 below zero! Frostbite, cars not starting, schools and even some businesses are closed. Deathly cold. 🥶

Goodness, that is cold Kim. I remember one winter in Scotland when it dropped to -15 for 10 days. I hope you get through it all ok. x

BTW: I’m expecting delivery of your book sometime today – It’s part of my stack of reading material I’m gathering for my ‘recovery’ time after next week’s foot surgery (nothing big, just needed and now’s the time for it).

each season seems to have her own special colour, i love the soft pinks and brilliant purples. you must work so very hard, everything looks so healthy and vibrant
